2 Of 17 Boys Recklessly Riding A Motorcycle While Holding A Sickle Threatened To 10 Years In Prison
JAKARTA – Having gone viral on social media, a group of teenagers who were caught carrying sharp weapons while speeding on a public road were arrested by the Bantul Resort Police, DI Yogyakarta. The police ensnared two of them with Articles of Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.
"We can explain the article that was imposed, namely Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with the threat of a sentence of approximately 10 years in prison," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasatreskrim) of the Bantul Police, Commissioner Adjutant Archye Nevada, quoting Antara, Sunday, May 22.
The 17 teenagers who were part of the group were investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bantul Police, Friday afternoon, May 20. Meanwhile, it is known that the incident occurred on Thursday, May 19, at around 15.00 western Indonesia time, on Samas Street, Bambanglipuro, Bantul.
Of the 17 teenagers, two of them have been named suspects for carrying sharp weapons and bats in the form of a belt whose ends are tied to motorcycle gear, in fact, both are still under the age of 17.
"So we can say that we are still following up regarding the incident, even though the suspect is still a minor, we will continue to follow up the legal process, it will not just end," he said.

He said from the results of the examination that the group of teenagers who came from a high school (SMA) in Kretek Bantul wanted to attack high school students in the Bambanglipuro area because they wanted to take revenge after their school was visited by high school students in Bambanglipuro.
"The results of the examination showed that the high school students in Kretek did not accept it because when the high school students in Bambanglipuro passed in front of the school they were blowing motorbikes, and it was considered challenging, so the high school students in Kretek took the initiative to retaliate against the school in Bambanglipuro," he said.
However, he said, when a group of teenagers came to the school in Bambanglipuro it turned out that the school was empty because it was late so there were no clashes between students.
