Not Wanting To Be Left Behind From Developed Countries, Commander General Andika Wants Sesko TNI To Be On The Level Of War College

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander, General Andika Perkasa wants the TNI Command and Staff School to become a higher education unit at the level of War College.

"I want the Sesko TNI to be a War College program, so there is an equivalent," Andika said after receiving a visit from the Commander of the Sesko TNI, Marshal Diyah Yudanardi, as monitored from his YouTube channel, in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, May 18.

This desire is to answer various challenges in the field of military higher education. In addition, it is hoped that the new education unit will provide a wider scope.

The four-star general who received a lot of higher education in the United States said the desired educational institution was not only a Command and Staff College but also provided broader knowledge and education related to national defense and security.

"It's no longer combined. So it's bigger than the Command and Staff School," he said.

His desire and hope is to make Sesko TNI a higher education unit at the level of a War College, so that it does not lag behind the developed countries that first established it.

According to him, the development of new educational units will provide progress for higher education institutions within the TNI. In addition, it can improve the quality of warrior resources.

The United States National War College, located in Fort Lesley J McNair, Washington DC, as quoted from its official website, has the mission of educating future leaders of the United States Armed Forces, State Department, and various other civilian agencies about high-level policy, responsibility staff and command through high-level education on national security strategy.

The curriculum emphasizes a combined and inter-institutional perspective.

Perkasa also completed his military education at The Military College of Vermont, Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont, United States (1999) and National War College, National Defense University, Washington DC, United States (2003).

The Commander in Chief also initiated a joint exercise on the largest scale ever held with the United States Army in three locations in Indonesia, codenamed Operation Garuda Shield 2021.

Meanwhile, Yudanardi said that Sesko TNI plans to cooperate with several countries. For now, he said, the most likely cooperation could be established with the United States.
