Inter Milan is the only competitor of AC Milan. The Nerazzurri are on 78 points and have just a few minutes to go against hosts Cagliari. If they don't win, Milan will certainly be champions.

Both teams played cautiously during the first 15 minutes despite Milan pressing a lot. No shots were fired during this time.

Milan created the first opportunity in the 20th minute. Rafael Leao fired a measured shot from the side of the penalty box, but the direction of the ball was still predictable by Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso.

Atalanta created a chance in the 30th minute through Luis Muriel's kick outside the penalty box which Mike Maignan could still anticipate.

Four minutes later, Alexis Saelemaekers fired speculation from distance. The pace of the ball was still too weak to be dammed by Musso.

Milan continued to pound the Atalanta defense, but failed to score in the first half. Both teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw until halftime.

The home team finally broke the deadlock in the second half, precisely in the 56th minute. Junior Messias crossed the ball into the Atalanta defense and was met by Rafael Leao to then score. Score 1-0 to Milan.

Atalanta tried to score the equaliser as quickly as possible. Duvan Zapata missed a chance to score in the 60th minute when his shot from inside the box flew over the post.

The visitors continued to press Milan after falling behind. However, the efforts of Gian Piero Gasperini's squad did not lead to goals.

Milan could even increase the advantage to 2-0 in the 75th minute. Theo Hernandez dribbled from midfield and then fired inside the box which Musso couldn't stop.

Milan almost increased their advantage in the 85th minute after an error from the Atalanta players in their own penalty box. However, the wild ball failed to be put to good use by the home players.

Zapata threatened Milan a minute later. His shot from close range by utilizing a wild ball can still be pushed over by Maignan.

No additional goals were created until the game was over. Milan won the match with a score of 2-0.
