BNSP And Kemendikbudristek Develop Certification For Disabilities

DEPOK - The National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) together with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) developed 136 Certification Schemes for Special Persons with Disabilities.

Deputy Chairman of BNSP Miftakul Azis in a statement received in Depok, West Java, Friday, May 13, said the development of a certification scheme for persons with disabilities is an effort to realize state recognition for them.

The development of the certification scheme is carried out in the verification of the certification scheme by the Directorate of Public and Special Education, the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

"Development of this scheme for persons with disabilities is our effort to recognize the competence of persons with disabilities so as to facilitate access to services and facilities, especially in the world of employment," he said as quoted by Antara.

In addition, he said, the development of this certification scheme was BNSP's participation in supporting one of the priority issues to be brought up by the Indonesian Presidency at the 2022 G20 event for the Manpower sector.

"So this development is our effort to support one of the priority issues during the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 event, namely the Inclusive Labor Market and Job Quotas for People With Disabilities," said Miftakul Azis.

Meanwhile, Director of Community Education and Special Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Samto said that this 136 certification scheme is the first stage for 10 skill areas.

"Later on, it can be used by the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) which will be established by the Special School (SLB), and the association that houses Persons with Disabilities," he said.

The activity was also attended by BNSP member Henny S. Widyaningsih, a number of employees of the Directorate of Community Education and Special Education, SLB, inclusive vocational schools, as well as associations and industry.
