Police Arrested Subsidized Solar Diverters In Tanjungpinang

TANJUNGPINANG - The Tanjungpinang Polresta team, Riau Islands Police, arrested IA, who was suspected of diverting subsidized diesel fuel by using a modified Toyota Kijang.

"The arrest of the perpetrator began with reports from residents who were suspicious of seeing the perpetrator's car refueling at the gas station", said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjungpinang Police, AKP Awal Sya'ban Harahap, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 10.

The perpetrator was caught red-handed while filling the subsidized diesel at the Kilometer 3 gas station, Jalan MT Haryono, Tanjungpinang City on May 7, 2022.

Initial explained that the perpetrators modified the Kijang car which was driven with a tank capacity of 480 liters. When secured, the subsidized diesel fuel has been filled into the tank with as much as 420 liters.

The perpetrators bought subsidized diesel at the Kilometer 3 gas station using the Pertamina FuelCard BRIZZI card for IDR 5,150 per liter.

The perpetrator did not have a permit to transport subsidized oil from the government, so he was immediately named a suspect.

"The perpetrator has been detained, as well as evidence of one Kijang car, and 32 Pertamina FuelCard BRIZZI cards have been confiscated", said Awal.

Awal explained that the suspect bought subsidized diesel and then sold it to fishing boats that were docked at ports, such as on Dompak Island. He sold the subsidized diesel above the highest retail price (HET).

"This is the first time the suspect has done this, but we are continuing to develop it", said Awal.

The suspect's actions violated Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, as amending Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas.
