Police Investigate Alleged Drug Business Police Tajir Kaltara Suspect Illegal Gold Mine Whose Luxury Assets Were Confiscated
JAKARTA - The National Police have started investigating allegations of drug business being controlled or involving the wealthy North Kalimantan police chief, Brigadier Hasbudi.
The alleged drug business emerged after the discovery of 17 containers containing used clothes belonging to the wealthy policeman.
"Developing the disclosure of the suspect case of the First Brigadier HSB regarding the possible involvement of the suspect in the case of illicit drug trafficking," said Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police, Brigadier General Krisno H. Siregar when confirmed, Monday, May 9.
To investigate the allegation, Krisno has ordered the Directorate of Drugs to cooperate with the Directorate of Special Crimes of the North Kalimantan Police. The goal is to find evidence and clues to confirm the alleged drug business.
However, from the results of the temporary investigation, Krisno said that there were no significant findings. The team from the North Kalimantan Regional Police are still working to prove the truth of the allegation.
"So far not, the North Kalimantan Police's Narcotics Directorate is still working," said Krisno.
For information, Brigadier Hasbudi is one of five suspects in the illegal mining case in Sekatak Buji Village. In fact, this police officer is the owner of the illegal mine.
Not only the illegal mining business, Brigadier Hasbudi is also known to have a business smuggling used clothes.
This is known based on the results of a search of the house of the police officer. At his house several documents were found containing illegal activities suspected of being used clothes.
In fact, there is also some evidence allegedly related to the drug business.
Then investigators coordinated with Customs and Excise and found 17 containers suspected of having the potential to be a means of disguising drug shipments.

"The brand is Bradley. We can't confirm the price yet. What is clear is that it is expensive," said the Kapolda.
Three excavators that had operated at the location of an illegal gold mine belonging to HSB were also shown by the Regional Police Chief along with two trucks.
"Per unit of this excavator is estimated at IDR 2.5 billion. Trucks are around IDR 500 million," he said.
The Regional Police Chief also showed evidence of two boxes containing semi-automatic firearms inside. Approximately 200 rounds of ammunition were also seized.
"We also confiscated a DVR (digital video recorder) because we found evidence that contained a record of the cyanide warehouse allegedly belonging to HSB. We will also analyze the contents of a laptop if it relates to what we suspect," he said.
Previously, investigators confiscated other HSB assets, each a Toyota Alphard and a Honda Civic.
The police also secured 11 speedboats allegedly belonging to HSB which were used as tools or proceeds of his crime.
"We gradually found these 11 speedboats in different places with the keys missing and the propellers being pulled out, allegedly deliberately to hinder the investigation process," he said.
