JAKARTA - The National Police have started investigating allegations of drug business being controlled or involving the wealthy North Kalimantan police chief, Brigadier Hasbudi.

The alleged drug business emerged after the discovery of 17 containers containing used clothes belonging to the wealthy policeman.

"Developing the disclosure of the suspect case of the First Brigadier HSB regarding the possible involvement of the suspect in the case of illicit drug trafficking," said Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police, Brigadier General Krisno H. Siregar when confirmed, Monday, May 9.

To investigate the allegation, Krisno has ordered the Directorate of Drugs to cooperate with the Directorate of Special Crimes of the North Kalimantan Police. The goal is to find evidence and clues to confirm the alleged drug business.

However, from the results of the temporary investigation, Krisno said that there were no significant findings. The team from the North Kalimantan Regional Police are still working to prove the truth of the allegation.

Previously, investigators confiscated other HSB assets, each a Toyota Alphard and a Honda Civic.

The police also secured 11 speedboats allegedly belonging to HSB which were used as tools or proceeds of his crime.

"We gradually found these 11 speedboats in different places with the keys missing and the propellers being pulled out, allegedly deliberately to hinder the investigation process," he said.
