Police Urge Travelers To Take Advantage Of Rest Areas To Prevent Build-up At Bakauheni Port

JAKARTA - Head of Security Post (Kapospam) Operation Ketupat Krakatau Lampung 2022, Iptu Nixson WIlson Wariki said that travelers who want to travel back to Java Island from Lampung should take advantage of the rest area that has been provided, in order to avoid the accumulation of passengers at Bakauheni Port.

"We urge you to be careful, take care of your health, rest in the rest area that has been provided and don't rush to the Bakau Harbor. This is to break down the density at Bakauheni Port and congestion will occur if they speed or rush. So I urge you to slow down and rest in the existing rest areas," said Iptu Wariki when met at the OPS post for Ketupat Krakatau 2022 Rest Area 20B, South Lampung, quoted from Antara, Sunday, May 8.

He said that on Saturday 7 May afternoon, there had been a buildup of vehicles at Bakauheni Port until the evening. Therefore, the appeal was issued to take advantage of the available rest area.

"Last Saturday afternoon, until last night we bagged the vehicle, because the vehicle situation at Bakauheni Port was already congested," he said.

According to Antara's observations, traffic conditions are currently still being monitored and tend to be more conducive. The density in Rest Area 20B is also not visible.

"But right now it's still sloping. Meanwhile, it's still normal and smooth," he concluded.
