Nigerian Defender Zaidu Sanusi's Goal Sends FC Porto Their 30th Portuguese League Title
JAKARTA - Zaidu Sanusi scored a goal in stoppage time which saw Porto not only beat Benfica on Saturday, May 7 local time, but also sealed their 30th Portuguese League title.
The result of this match also ensured that last year's champions Sporting finished second and qualified for the Champions League group stage, while Benfica finished third.
Cited from Antara, Sunday, May 8, the Nigerian left-back Zaidu launched a counter-attack in the minutes of added time to put Porto nine points clear with one game remaining.
Sporting travel to Portimonense on Saturday night, and are eight points clear of Benfica, in addition to saving one game more.
Benfica, who reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season, will qualify for the European competition for next season.

Before suffering their first league defeat of the season against Braga two weeks ago, Sergio Conceicao's Porto had an unbeaten run in the Portuguese league of 58 games.
Porto is on the verge of picking up two trophies if they beat Tondela, who is in the 16th in the top flight, in the Portugal Cup final on May 22.
