Canelo Alvarez Only Paid IDR 565 Thousand At The Beginning Of His Career, Now 50 Million US Dollars Per Duel

JAKARTA - Before becoming a star, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez had humble beginnings as a professional boxer.

Canelo started his career as a boxer in 2005. Not long ago, he revealed some details of the fight, such as the amount of money he earned for the fight.

"I got 800 Mexican pesos for that fight", Canelo told DAZN quoted from Marca, Sunday, May 1.

"I had to spend half of it to buy tickets because my extended family wanted to see me fight", he continued.

Not a huge amount of money for Canelo, who is only 15 years old entering the field of combat sports.

He even admitted that the amount of money he received was not the amount previously agreed upon at that time.

His first fight took place on October 29, 2005, at the Chololo Larios Arena in Tonala, Jalisco.

Abraham Gonzalez was Canelo's first victim. He beat him by KO in four rounds.

Since then, his boxing career has been on the rise. He has become the best cross-division boxer in the world, which has helped him earn huge sums of money, almost 50 million US dollars per fight.
