Calling Himself Invincible, Canelo Alvarez Is Too Confident?
JAKARTA - Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is still in the process of preparing for his upcoming fight against Dimitry Bivol. Canelo is very confident for his next challenge in the 175 pound class.
In an interview on the Boxing with Chris Mannix podcast, the Mexican revealed that he is in an unbeatable state compared to other boxers.
"This is boxing, but no one can beat me now. And there is no disrespect to other boxers. There are some great boxers. But I feel the best at the moment. I feel strong," said Alvarez, quoted by Marca, Thursday.
The fighter stresses the importance of improving day by day with his coach Eddy Reynoso and improving to face each fight with maximum assurance.
"We're always trying to do new things in the gym," says Alvarez. "We try not to make the same mistakes I made in my last fight. So we are always working on something."
He even stated that he was more excited than at the beginning of his career.
"This is a part of my life. This kind of fight, this kind of challenge, keeps me motivated. This kind of fight, this kind of big fight, makes me feel motivated".
Canelo currently leads the rankings across divisions and his desire to stay on top seems to be the 'engine' by which he is advancing in his career.
"I want to continue at this level to be the best fighter, so maybe I'm more motivated now."
