Warner Bros. Will Boost DC Output In Its Game Products

JAKARTA - A recent report published by Variety claims that following the merger of Warner Bros. with Discovery, the company will develop and further strengthen DC's output in various fields, including in games.

Allegedly, WB is looking to oversee a radical overhaul of DC's output across media similar to the work Kevin Feige has done for Marvel. This will apparently also include the revitalization of Superman.

“But the company believes that DC should do more to develop its approach to comic book fare, including strengthening games,” said David Zaslav, CEO of the joint company.

To date, there have been three DC games that have been officially confirmed to be in development or will be released soon. For example, WB Games Avalanche and Portkey Games which showcased Hogwarts Legacy gameplay on March 17.

Next up are WB Games Montreal, which is working on Gotham Knights, Rocksteady, who is working on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and Monolith Productions, which has also begun work on a Wonder Woman title that will feature its vaunted Nemesis system.

On the other hand, Rocksteady Founder, Sefton Hill announced that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be delayed until Spring 2023. While reports claim that NetherRealm Studios is working on Mortal Kombat 12.
