343 Industries Introduces 2 New Maps For The Upcoming 'Halo Infinite 2'
JAKARTA - Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer component is getting its second season, called Lone Wolves. 343 Industries had previously announced that it would be adding new maps, modes, and events when it launches on May 3.
On Friday, April 15, the developer finally gave a more extensive look at the two maps that will be added later to Halo Infinite 2: Lone Wolves. With Catalyst added to the Arena pool and Breaker joining the roster of Big Team Battle maps.
Multiplayer level designer Tyler Ensrude describes Catalyst as a symmetrical Arena map "nested high within the Forerunner's vast tunnel-like structure" with waterfalls cascading around a suspended catwalk, and light bridges connecting the sides of the map together.
Meanwhile, Breaker is an asymmetrical BTB map set in a garbage dump where each team's base is a large chunk of shipwreck, divided by a plasma-cutting beam structure in the middle.
Ensrude said plasma cutting blocks will be a dynamic element of the map that presents both opportunities and challenges in gameplay.
