COVID-19 Update As Of April 8: 1.755 New Cases, 76.568 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 130.419 specimens were examined with the result that there were 1.755 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6.030.168 people and active cases have decreased by 1.734 to 76.568 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Friday, April 8.

Today's recovered cases increased by 3.442 people, bringing the total to 5.798.044 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 47 cases and the total was 155.556 people.

The province with the newest cases was DKI Jakarta with 592 cases and a total of 1.242.697 cases. Followed by West Java with 334 new cases with a total of 1.102.049 cases. Banten with 157 new cases and a total of 290.866 cases. Central Java with 149 new cases and a total of 625.530 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 764 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 406 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 398 recovered cases, and DI Yogyakarta with an additional 257 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 92.947.569.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 3.88 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 5.021 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, there are 197.313.563 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 161.119.107 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 25.945.875. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
