Dave Mustaine Scores Against Persija's Goal, PSS Survives Relegation
JAKARTA - PSS survived the relegation zone after beating Persija with a score of 2-0 in their final match in the 2021-2022 Indonesian League 1, at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Bali, Thursday.
Launching Antara, PSS's goals were scored by Dave Mustaine, through the penalty spot, and Kim Kurniawan.
The victory made PSS collect 39 points from 34 matches. This figure is enough to ensure that the "Javanese Super Eagle" squad will appear in the Indonesian League 1 2022-2023.
In that match, Persija, who is in the top eight of the standings, did not field a single foreign player since the start of the match.
Persija Sudirman coach included three U-20 players namely Rangga Widiansyah, Dony Pamungkas and Braif Fatari in the first eleven. The position of the attacker was handed over to Muhammad Rafli Mursalim.
While PSS played with the best strength. Aaron Evans, Wander Luiz and Mario Maslac competed from the first minute, as did names like Irkham Mila, Bagus Nirwanto, Dave Mustaine and Miswar Saputra.

Dave Mustaine took a 12-foot shot and beat Persija goalkeeper Adixi Lenzivio.
The 1-0 score for PSS's advantage lasted until the break.
In the second half, PSS still consistently threatened the goal of the "Tiger Kemayoran" squad. Mario Maslac had a chance to create an opportunity through a header in the 52nd minute which was pushed over by Adixi.
However, the Persija goal finally broke again, precisely in the 82nd minute, via Kim Kurniawan's header.
There were no additional goals after that. PSS won with a score of 2-0 and managed to escape relegation.
