Ready To Oversee President Jokowi's Policies, Riau Governor Issues SE Encouraging Citizens To Use Domestic Products

RIAU - Riau Governor Syamsuar said he was ready to oversee President Joko Widodo's policies and asked all Riau people to use domestic products in the form of goods, services, design and others.

"To strengthen this escort, the Governor's Circular Letter (SE) will soon be issued to government and private agencies," said Syamsuar when contacted in Pekanbaru, Antara, Friday, March 25.

He said that the SE will encourage the efforts of the people of Riau to love national products more by buying and using domestic products.

Besides that, make posters in the form of an invitation to love domestic products or write blogs on the internet and discuss the quality of local products.

"Other efforts will be made by helping market and share local products on social media," he said.

The policy was conveyed related to the Affirmation Proud of Indonesian Products, which was held in Bali today. President Joko Widodo expressed his annoyance because there are still many government agencies that use imported products. The President asked that the habit of using imported goods not be continued.

"Try buying imported CCTV, some domestically can produce it. What is this, we don't think that a developed country is just buying imported CCTV," said the President.

"Army uniforms and shoes, police buy from outside, we can produce them everywhere. Don't continue," said the President again.

According to the President, all imported goods used for operational activities at the ministry can be produced domestically. Therefore, there is no longer any reason to buy things from outside.

The President is also optimistic that the use of domestic products will be able to improve the nation's economy. The President emphasized that the use of domestic products is targeted at the end of May throughout Indonesia to reach Rp400 trillion. Currently, it has only reached Rp. 214 trillion.
