VNTANA Integrates With Meta, You Can Easily Create 3D Ads On Facebook And Instagram

JAKARTA - Meta Platforms Inc will make it easier for brands to run three-dimensional ads on social media platforms Facebook and Instagram. This is being done through new partnerships with eCommerce technology companies.

Integration with VNTANA will allow brands to upload 3D models of their products to Facebook and Instagram. "They can also easily turn it into an advertisement," said VNTANA Chief Executive Ashley Crowder, Thursday, March 24 in a press release quoted by Reuters.

“This step is a stepping stone to advertising in the metaverse,” said Crowder, referring to the futuristic idea of a collection of virtual worlds accessible via devices such as headsets.

Meta has staked its future on contributing to the building of the metaverse, which it says could take up to a decade to realize.

Meta previously partnered with augmented reality (AR) companies Modiface and PerfectCorp to help beauty and cosmetic brands run 3D and AR ads more easily on its platform.

"The metaverse is basically a spatial internet," Crowder said, as quoted by Adweek. "It's a whole world of possibilities, which starts with having an exact 3D model of your product."

Through this form of advertising, Facebook and Instagram users who see a 3D ad while browsing on their desktop or mobile can interact with, for example, an image of a handbag. They can also move it around to see the item from all angles.

"In a way, it offers a glimpse of what you might expect in future devices like AR glasses," said Chris Barbour, Director of Augmented Reality Partnerships at Meta's Reality Labs unit.

Prior to VNTANA's integration with Meta, advertisers needed to reformat 3D files to make them compatible with the Meta ad system. “Now, brands or advertisers can use VNTANA to easily upload and convert files into 3D ads without the technical expertise required to work with 3D images,” Crowder said.

VNTANA says its optimization algorithms have helped speed up a process that would normally take days for manual work on large files by 3D artists. Now 3D skills are no longer required to use the platform.
