Central Sulawesi Police Investigate Alleged Hoarding Of 53 Tons Of Cooking Oil

PALU - The Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulteng) has started an investigation into the alleged hoarding of 53 tons of cooking oil, which involved a basic food distributor in Palu City.

The Head of Public Relations for the Central Sulawesi Police, Grand Commissioner Pol Didik Supranoto in Palu, Wednesday, March 23, said the case had entered a new phase after the examination of five people as witnesses.

"Based on the information from the Special Crime Investigation Directorate of Central Sulawesi Police, the alleged hoarding of cooking oil has increased its status from investigation to investigation," said Didik, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the increase in the status of the case was in accordance with an investigation warrant signed by the Director of Criminal Investigation at the Central Sulawesi Police, number: SP.Sidik/50/III/2022/Krimsus dated March 21, 2022.

Special Crime Investigation Directorate of Central Sulawesi, said Didik, had previously examined five witnesses, including four from the distributor CV AJ, as well as one staff member of the Department of Trade and Industry of Central Sulawesi Province.

"Later on in this investigation, the five of them will undergo another examination to collect information before proceeding with the case," he said.

He added that the results of the examination will also be carried out later to determine the suspect.

The Central Sulawesi Regional Police, he said, would disclose the case transparently to the public.

Previously, the local Police's Food Task Force found an alleged hoarding of about 53,869 liters of cooking oil by distributor CV AJ in Palu, Central Sulawesi, Thursday (3/3).

In CV AJ's warehouse, the Food Task Force found piles of Viola brand cooking oil as much as 1,748 boxes or 21,355 liters and at the Palupi Permai Roundabout Palu Shophouse Complex, 2,461 boxes or 32,514 liters of Viola cooking oil were found.
