Social Distancing Signs Removed, Jakarta MRT Capacity 100 Percent Starting Today

JAKARTA - PT MRT Jakarta has removed the social distancing sign on the seats in its train. So, starting today, Monday, March 14, the MRT passenger capacity will be 100 percent. Previously, MRT Jakarta's capacity was still limited to 70 percent.

This policy is an implementation of the Decree of the DKI Transportation Agency Number 145 of 2022 concerning PPKM Level 2 regarding the regulation of maximum 100 percent passenger capacity for mass transportation modes located in areas with PPKM Level 2 status.

"With regard to policy adjustments, the maximum passenger capacity of MRT Jakarta is currently 86 people per car (train) or 516 people per train set (train series)," said Corporate Secretary Division Head PT MRT Jakarta Rendi Alhial in his statement, Monday, 14 March.

Then, currently, MRT Jakarta operates from 05.00 to 21.30 western Indonesia time on Monday to Friday. Meanwhile, MRT Jakarta on Saturday, Sunday, and weekends operates from 06.00 to 21.30 western Indonesia time. The departure time between trains (headway) is every 5 minutes during peak hours, namely 07.00-09.00 western Indonesia time and 17.00-19.00 western Indonesia time. Then, headway trains every 10 minutes outside peak hours.

Meanwhile, on weekends, MRT Jakarta operates from 6.00-21.30 western Indonesia time with an interval of departure between trains every 10 minutes.

In addition, MRT Jakarta users are also required to follow the applicable rules while inside the station and train areas, including the application of health protocols related to preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. By strictly preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, such as wearing masks and always maintaining hand hygiene by washing with soap," said Rendi.

Furthermore, MRT Jakarta users are also still prohibited from talking, either in one or two directions while on the train. Users are also asked to scan a QR code through the PeduliLindungi application before entering the station.
