Police Investigate Case Of Suspected Murder With Victim's Body Drowning In A Bag Of Stones

SEMARANG - Semarang Police, Central Java, investigated the discovery of the body of an unidentified man in the Tuntang River who was wearing a bag filled with stones suspected of being the victim of a murder.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Semarang Police, AKP Tegar Satrio Wicaksono, suspected that the bag filled with stones was intended to drown the victim's body.

"It is strongly suspected that the aim was to drown the victim. However, it did not sink", he said, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, March 1.

Currently, he continued, the investigation is still focused on the cause of death and the identity of the victim.

From the results of the initial examination of the victim's fingerprints, he continued, data was obtained about the resemblance of the victim to a person with the initials R who is a resident of Madiun, East Java.

"Currently being checked whether there is a connection or not", he said.

As previously reported, the body of an unidentified man was found in the Tuntang River in Asinan Village, Semarang Regency, Monday, February 28.

A bag was also found which contained two stones weighing about 5 kg.

Based on the initial examination, there was a wound on the victim's forehead.

There are also the characteristics of the unidentified man's body, among others, aged around 35 years and there is a tattoo that reads "Hopes & Robert" on the chest.
