Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Asks ASN To Build A Work Culture Of Serving The Public

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian, asked all state civil servants (ASN) within the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) to develop a mindset and work culture to serve the public.

Tito said that the effort to build a work pattern to serve the public was related to the core values of ASN "With Morals", Service Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative.

"I want there to be a change in mindset and culture within the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP. This is also a directive from the President to carry out a mental revolution," Tito said at the "Kemendagri BerAKHLAK: Transformation of Work Culture in Era 4.0" which was held offline and online, reported by Antara, Wednesday, February 23.

Tito emphasized the importance of changing the mindset and work culture of the ASN because the Ministry of Home Affairs has the task of managing 548 local governments (Pemda).

In the midst of information disclosure, good service practices must be implemented, including an anti-corruption attitude, he added. Moreover, by strengthening the role of civil society supported by the existence of social media.

This has an impact on various sectors, including public complaints about public services, which can be directly identified by the leadership, including the President.

"If you still maintain the old bad cultures, deposits, extortion and all kinds of things will be crushed, crushed, must change quickly, adapt to new environments. Instead, use technology to create a good image," he explained.

In addition, the public also has the power to control the running of the country with the democratic system implemented by Indonesia, he said.

Therefore, ASN must be able to change the mindset and work culture that leads to community service. This can be done by changing the system to become more open and transparent so that it can be trusted by the public.

Tito also hopes that the event "Kemendagri ACTUALLY: Transforming Work Culture in Era 4.0" will not only be ceremonial, but will be a momentum for self-improvement and introspection for ASN in the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP.

"Please take full advantage of this momentum, I rarely meet with all of them in large numbers; this is my message. And to be able to change that character, it must be changed from oneself and must be started for the organization, it must start from the leadership," he said.
