5,340 Dose Of Pekanbaru COVID-19 Vaccine Stock Close To Expiration
PEKANBARU - Around 5,340 doses out of a total of 59,744 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine stock in Pekanbaru City, Riau, are nearing expiration, according to local Health Service officials.
"Around 5,340 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will soon enter their expiration date," said Pekanbaru City Health Office Head Zaini Rizaldi Saragih as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 22.
He said the city government was intensifying COVID-19 vaccination services for residents so that the COVID-19 vaccine that was almost expiring could be used up as soon as possible.
Zaini detailed that the current stock of COVID-19 vaccine in Pekanbaru City includes 46,172 doses of Coronavac vaccine, 20 doses of vaccine made by Bio Farma, 5,340 doses of vaccine made by AstraZeneca, 400 doses of Janssen vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, and 7,812 doses of vaccine made by Pfizer.
"We will accelerate, we urge people who have not injected the vaccine to immediately vaccinate," he said.
Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus said that the central government had instructed the immediate use of the COVID-19 vaccine, which was nearing expiration.
"The task force will make efforts to accelerate the administration of vaccines," said Firdaus.
The city government is working with the TNI and Polri as well as private partners to accelerate the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination.
