Mane's Touching Message For Salah Who Lost At The 2021 Africa Cup Of Nations

JAKARTA - Sadio Mane has successfully brought Senegal to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Egypt in the final. Even though he came out as the champion, Mane did not get excited.

Mane actually seemed to comfort Mohamed Salah, his Liverpool teammate who was his opponent in the African Cup of Nations. Mane tried to strengthen Salah who had to stand as the losing team in the match.

After Mane celebrated the victory with his teammates, he did not forget to approach Salah, who was devastated by the defeat.

On that occasion, Mane emphasized his pride in Salah and how happy he was to be a teammate at Liverpool.

"I told him (Salah) that he is still a very great player and it is an honor for me to play for the same club (Liverpool)'" Sadio Mane said in an interview with television stations, quoted by the Express.

The Senegal vs Egypt duel has indeed become the stage for Mane and Salah's duel. Mane finally led Senegal to become the winner after successfully carrying out his duties as the fifth executor through a penalty shootout.

Meanwhile, Salah did not get a chance to shoot a penalty because the score was already 4-2 for Senegal and Egypt's fifth kick was no longer needed.

However, the battle between Mane and Salah is not over, even though the Africa Cup of Nations is over. The reason is, in March Senegal and Egypt will clash again in home and away matches.

The meeting took place to fight for tickets to the 2022 World Cup. Thus, one of Mane or Salah certainly will not compete in this year's World Cup. And Liverpool must again lose two champions for a while for the sake of state duty.
