Getting Directions From Jokowi, Banten Police Chief Immediately Gives Instructions To The Ranks, What's Up?

SERANG – After attending a video conference directed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Banten Governor's Hall, Monday 7 February, around 13.30 western Indonesia time, the Banten Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Rudy Heriyanto issued several instructions.

The first instruction that became the priority of the Banten Police Chief to the PJUs and the Head of the Resort Police of the ranks was to carry out Justification Operations for enforcing health protocols in public places, especially community compliance in 5M (wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility).

"Banten Police together with the Banten Provincial Government and elements of the TNI will enforce the health procedures, especially in public crowded places such as malls, markets, sports halls, offices, meeting buildings, and other public places. The public is expected to be disciplined in carrying out health procedures," said Rudy, in a release received, Monday, February 7th.

The mask operation activity also became the attention of the Regional Police Chief. By distributing masks to the public, through mask posts made by the Banten Police and the ranks of the Resort Police.

"At each Mask Post, personnel besides being proactive in sharing masks, are also obliged to educate the public about the faster and increasing transmission of the Omicron variant virus," explained Rudy.

Responding to the surge in COVID-19, the Police Chief advised the public not to panic and remain vigilant.

"Patients with mild and asymptomatic symptoms or OTG are sufficient to self-isolate (isoman) or use integrated isolation sites or isoter so that they do not increase the percentage of hospitalization or hospital BOR," added Rudy.

In addition, the Banten Police Chief also instructed PJU and the Head of the Resort Police to immediately increase vaccinations. Both the first and second vaccines, up to over 70%, including vaccinations for the elderly, vaccines for children aged 6-11 years, and booster vaccines.

"The target of 70% vaccination for the elderly, children, and boosters must be achieved immediately, community participation is very much needed for the succession of this target," said Rudy.
