The End Of The Video Lecture On Domestic Violence, Oki Setiana Dewi's Suggestion For Wives Bad-Mouthing Husbands: Is It Better To Have Mouth Plastered?

JAKARTA - The preacher and actress Oki Setiana Dewi, has yet to comment on the part of her lecture on social media that is currently viral. This sister of Ria Ricis suddenly caused a stir after circulating posts uploaded to Twitter by the account @bijikambingg with a duration of 1 minute 47 seconds.

She is considered by netizens to be underestimating incidents of domestic violence because she feels there is no need to tell other people if she experiences such treatment.

“There is a true story in Jeddah, a husband and wife were fighting. The husband was very angry with his wife and then the wife was beaten in the face. Then his wife wept. Suddenly the doorbell rang and the wife's mother came. Her husband from a distance was shocked, afraid that his wife would complain. Oh God, my wife must have complained to my in-laws, that she was beaten,'" Oki said in her lecture.

Not only netizens, but several celebrities also commented on the video such as Deddy Corbuizer and Permadi Arya, or Abu Janda. "I'm Muslim but (sorry) I think this is a form of gender oppression under the pretext of Shari'a, PLS STOP" said Abu Janda via his Instagram account.

"If I am the one who hit no one can't cry. No one would wake up again because of that," said Deddy Corbuizer in the Abu Janda comment column.

It didn't stop there, a similar video was also circulating on Youtube with a rather long duration of 4 minutes 4 seconds, which was uploaded by Evio Multimedia. There, Oki even asked the participants who were present at her lecture about how we behave when we meet a wife who likes to speak ill of her husband.

"That's why sometimes when we fight, husband and wife, especially for young marriages, we fight a little with our parents. The parents are already annoyed, we have made another child with our husband, we are good again with our husband, the parents are still resentful that we are harmonious again with our husbands, so there is no need for stories that make us bad-mouth our partners," said Oki.

"If there are these types of wives, what should they do, ma'am? A wife whose job likes to talk about her husband's ugliness, what should she do? What should a wife like this advise or do? Plastered her mouth? Good wishes," she added at the end of the video.

As if indifferent to the viral video, Oki Setiana Dewi still continues her routine through preaching. In her latest Instagram upload, @okisetianadewi, she will be giving a virtual lecture with the theme Overcoming the Future of Saturated Worshiping today.
