Citizens Taking Selfies Welcoming The Year 2573 Kongzili At HI Roundabout With Full Of Chinese New Year Atmosphere
JAKARTA – During the celebration of the Chinese New Year 2573 Kongzili, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta also made improvements. The provincial government decorated the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout area in Central Jakarta with Chinese New Year ornaments to liven up the atmosphere.
"Ornaments with Chinese nuances decorate the HI Roundabout area by the Jakarta City Parks and Forests Service," said Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria through the Instagram account @arizapatria in Jakarta, Tuesday.
According to a report by Antara, the DKI Jakarta City Park and Forest Service decorated the heart of Jakarta with red knick-knacks typical of the Chinese New Year.
The Chinese New Year knick-knacks on display in the area include orchids, lanterns, large kepeng coins to several flowers in gold-colored pots.
The existence of these decorations attracted the attention of Jakarta residents who were passing by. They then took selfies, capturing the moment of the 2022 Chinese New Year celebrations.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria, interprets Chinese New Year as an expression of gratitude and wishes for health in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Happy Chinese New Year. May we all be healthy, happy, and grateful in life. Our respects to all families who celebrate Chinese New Year," he said via Instagram @arizapatria.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan interpreted the celebration of the 2573 Kongzili Chinese New Year as a year of encouragement to synergize and maintain unity.
Anies added that Chinese New Year 2022 is the year of transition from the Metal Buffalo Shio to the Water Tiger Zodiac.
Shio tiger, he continued, is believed to be a symbol of strength, a symbol of courage, a symbol of resilience in facing various kinds of challenges.
Considering that we are still in a COVID-19 pandemic situation, the government urges people celebrating Chinese New Year to be carried out simply by implementing strict health protocols (prokes) to prevent transmission.
