JAKARTA Google is testing a new ad format in Gmail. In this test, Google will convert the Promotion tab into an integrated mini shopping center.

Previously, the Promotion tab looked very monotonous. If you subscribe a lot of emails, you'll see a lot of emails coming in every day, but in a style not much different from the inbox.

However, the tab now embeds a more interactive and stylish experience like e-commerce. This latest ad format is designed to highlight various real products that may attract Gmail users.

This new format is more like a banner ad that often appears on websites and may be a bit annoying for some users. Fortunately, ad displays like this will only be found in the Promotion tab.

Based on the findings of How to Geek, Gmail users will see a tile that features visuals with the image of the product. If the ad tile is knocked, the display of the ad will expand with some product views like a mini catalog.

Each product that is displayed will include purchasing information, including product names, prices, to star ratings given by the buyer. And may also see the label 'Gratis Ongkir' on the look of the product.

Please note that users still cannot transact directly via Gmail. If users are interested in buying products from the Promotion tab page, they will be redirected to an external website.
