JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly developing a visionOS operating system version 3.0 and 2.4 for Apple Vision Pro devices. This information was revealed accidentally through sample documentation published on Apple's official website.
After the beta version release for thevisionOS 2.3 developer on Monday, April 14, evidence emerged that Apple was already preparing a further major update to their Vision Pro headset operating system.
visionOS itself is an operating system specifically designed for Apple Vision Pro devices, which is Apple's first step in the world of mixed reality headsets. Apple CEO Tim Cook calls this device a "product for early users."
visionOS 1.0 was first released at the start of the year, and visionOS 2 is publicly available starting September 16, 2024. While the current public version is a 2.3 beta visionOS for developers, it turns out that Apple has secretly listed references to visionOS 3.0 in their sample project documentation.
The discovery was reported by AppleInsider, who found that in one of the sample project documents on the Apple site, it was stated that the target platformsvisionOS 3.0 and visionOS 2.4 were not visionOS 2.2 as previously thought. visionOS 2.4 itself is expected to be released in 2025.

Unfortunately, there are no details regarding the new features that will be present in both versions of the operating system. However, bug fixes and increased user convenience will almost certainly be part of the update.
Interestingly, until now Apple Vision Pro has not supported the Apple Intelligence feature, even though it uses Apple M2 chips. In fact, iPad and Mac devices with the same Apple Silicon chip can already enjoy various generative AI features such as Writing Tools, Genmoji, Image Playground, and others available on iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia.
It remains unclear whether visionOS 3.0 will later bring support for Apple Intelligence at Vision Pro. However, this small mistake from Apple is the first clue that the big development for visionOS is already running behind the scenes.
