Vacum Since 2018, Winwin Officially Leaves NCT

JAKARTA - Winwin officially parted ways with SM Entertainment agency on Thursday, July 9. The agency stated that he did not extend his contract as one of the members of the NCT group and left all related units.

"After discussing with Winwin, we agreed to terminate his exclusive contract effective July 9. Winwin will end all activities as a member of NCT," SM Entertainment said.

"We are very grateful to Winwin who has been with SM Entertainment for more than 10 years since his training period. We are very grateful for the time shared together and support his new journey. Thank you," he said.

Winwin, known as Dong Si Cheng, then wrote a letter to NCT fans through his Instagram account.

"Starting from trainees to debut as members of NCT 127 and WayV, I am grateful for the people I met for 10 years. Sometimes, I look at old photos from a few years ago and each photo brings memories and stories behind it," wrote Winwin.

"When I was young and inexperienced, SM gave me the opportunity to debut as a member. They also gave me the opportunity to stand on stage and meet you all. From my first moment as an SM artist, I knew I couldn't be where I am without that experience," he continued.

In his letter, Winwin also expressed his gratitude to NCT and WayV fans, namely Czennie and WayZenNi, who have accompanied him all this time. He also hopes that everyone can achieve their dreams well.

Winwin debuted as a member of NCT 127 in 2016, but he has been absent from group activities since 2018. The agency itself has not explained the reason for Winwin's absence from all activities to date.

Then, Winwin joined one of the NCT units called WayV in 2019. This sub-unit focuses on promotions in Mandarin but he has also been absent from group activities for several years.

In 2021, he created his own management to support his activities in China ranging from acting and variety shows. This year, he starred in the drama A Splendid Match and is preparing for the dramas Qia Feng Chun, Sunshine Through the Rain, and The Boundless Bright Moon.
