JAKARTA - The USB-C SSD Planck is here as the latest external storage solution for mobile devices. This tool is claimed to be the smallest SSD in the world specifically designed for mobile phones, it offers up to 2TB capacity with a transfer speed of up to 1,050 MBps.

For users who need additional storage space without having to rely on internal memory, Planck USB-C SSD is an attractive option. Although many phones are currently present with a storage capacity of up to 1TB, this device offers alternatives for those who want to save files without burdening internal storage.

Planck is available in 1TB and 2TB variants and uses USB-C connectivity which allows direct data transfer to mobile phones. With an ultra-compact design, this SSD is easy to carry and uninstall at any time.

Although originally designed to support content creator needs, this SSD is also compatible with portable gaming devices such as the Nintendo Switch, ASUS ROG Ally X, to Steam Deck. In the test, this SSD shows low power consumption, with output power when transferring 150GB on PC only reaching 2.05W.

For users of portable gaming devices, efficient power consumption is an added value because it will not drain too much battery.

Another advantage of Planck USB-C SSD is that it is so small that it is easy to put in a pocket. Even though it is tiny, this device already has resistance to impacts and is water resistant, so it remains safe if it accidentally falls from a reasonable height or is hit by a splash.

In addition, this SSD supports file transfer in seconds and is compatible with high-quality video formats such as Apple ProRes 4K/120. This makes it ideal for game storage, video editing, to other large file storage.

The USB-C SSD Planck is currently available through the Kickstarter platform at an early cost of US$125 (Rp2 ta) for the 1TB and US$168 (Rp2.7 million) variants for 2TB. The normal price will reach 189 and 258 US dollars, respectively. The delivery of these devices is scheduled to start in May 2025.
