JAKARTA - Alphabet Inc's Google services appear to have returned to service after facing a brief global outage on Monday evening, August 8. This was reported by the outage tracking web site, Downdetector.com.

Reports of outages have fallen to fewer than 500 incidents in the United States, according to Downdetector, which compiles status reports from a number of sources.

At the height of the outage, more than 30,000 user reports had indicated a problem with Google in the United States alone, as of 0130 GMT.

Nearly 5,900 users reported similar issues in Japan, the tracking site said. They, added that the disturbance was also witnessed in Canada and Australia.

Google itself did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters, on the incident.
