JAKARTA - The British Army regained control of their Twitter and YouTube accounts on Sunday, July 3 after the accounts had been for some time and were used to post about cryptocurrencies and non-exchangeable tokens (NFT) by their hackers.

"Apologies for the temporary disruption of our feed. We will conduct a full investigation and learn from this incident," wrote the Twitter account @BritishArmy. Previously the account had retweeted several posts about NFT.

This British army YouTube account, previously renamed by hackers to 'Ark Invest' and featuring several videos related to cryptocurrency, has also been restored to its original state.

His Twitter feed currently has 362.000 followers, while his YouTube channel has 177.000 subscribers.

Ark Invest is the name of a global investment company. The company did not immediately respond to requests for comment submitted via email and on the company website.

Attempts to hack by accounts belonging to the British government is the umpteenth time. But a quick attempt to recover the account was quite a relief.
