JAKARTA - Harley-Davidson will start selling its first electric bicycle. Series 1, the e-bicycle product that emerged from Harley-Davidson's original electric bicycle program, is now called the S1 Mosh/Tribute which will be sold in limited quantities.

Series 1 launched in October last year and they unveiled a vintage-looking original e-bike prototype. The S1 Mosh/Tribute is very similar to the features of the prototype. A report also states that Serial 1 will produce 650 units of the S1 Mosh/Tribute electric bike.

A total of 650 units of this electric bicycle will be distributed evenly between the US and European markets. Deliveries may begin in the last quarter of the year. There is no news about the price yet.

As reported by Electrek, Aaron Frank, Series 1 brand director, said, “We are excited now to offer a limited edition that aptly captures the iconic look and feel of that first prototype and to use this moment as a springboard to launch our S1 Series. which will see a more exclusive and highly desirable Serial 1 e-bike model in the future.”

The first e-bike of the Series 1 to be shown to the public was inspired by the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle produced over 100 years ago. According to Frank, that bike was the inspiration behind the start of the Serial 1 e-bike brand.

The 2020 prototype or tribute e-bike gives a unique touch to the leather saddle and grips. White tires, rough accents, glossy paint, and brown seat belts add an aesthetic touch to the look.

Production of the Serial 1 e-bike uses a similar frame and electronics. But they are not as elegant as the original prototype. With this year's limited edition S1 Mosh/Tribute, the Series 1 has brought back the charm of vintage bikes.

However, the S1 Mosh/Tribute isn't exactly a prototype. Nevertheless, the similarities pay proper homage to it. This limited-edition bike is designed based on the Mosh/Cty e-bike model.

This electric bike has the same hydraulic disc brakes, center drive motor, carbon belt drive, and integrated lighting technology typical of bicycles. There are also extra headlights designed by the company's engineers themselves.
