JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) denied the information circulating related to the PeduliLindungi application owned by Singapore, and the data was also in the country.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Communication and Information said that the PeduliLindung application is purely owned by Indonesia from the work of the nation's children which was developed together with PT Telkom Indonesia.

"Therefore, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics reminds the public not to believe the rumors circulating and invites them to install PeduliLindungi", said Dedy.

Meanwhile, PT Telkom Indonesia also ensures the authenticity and security of the PeduliLindung platform as an application that is 100 percent made by Indonesia. Telkom emphasized that PeduliLindungi also guarantees its security because all data on this platform is located at the National Data Center (PDN) managed by the Ministry of Communication and Information, located in Indonesia.

"This affirmation was conveyed in response to the confusion of information regarding data security and the authenticity of PeduliLindungi as an application made in Indonesia. Data security at PeduliLindungi is ensured to have been running optimally and comprehensively by all policymakers such as the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Ministry of Health, and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN)", explained Telkom Indonesia's Senior Vice President of Corporate Communication & Investor Relations, Ahmad Reza.

Reza said PeduliLindungi itself is an application that is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of SOEs, the Ministry of Communication and Information, and the Ministry of Health, where the government subsequently appointed Telkom as the developer of the application.

"The issue of data security processed by PeduliLindungi is clear, where all data is ensured to be maintained and processed independently by Indonesia. We hope that the entire community, figures, and social media activists can be wiser and more careful when submitting arguments or opinions regarding data security to PeduliLindungi", said Reza.

Previously, news circulated through the upload of the former Polish Ambassador, Peter F Gontha, on social media stating that the PeduliLindung application was made in Singapore.
