JAKARTA - Netflix has been known as a platform that provides a wide selection of movies, series, and TV shows. However, in the near future, this US company is rumored to be expanding its services into a game streaming platform.
From a Bloomberg report quoted by Engadget, Thursday, July 15, Netflix has recruited former Oculus and EA executive Mike Verdu as vice president of game development. Verdu is VP of augmented and virtual reality games and content at Facebook, where he works with developers for Oculus Rift, Quest, and Go.
From 2017 to 2018, Verdu also served as head of EA Mobile and oversaw the studios working on Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, SimCity BuildIt, Plants vs Zombies, Sims Free Play, and more.
The company will reportedly be building its own gaming team in the coming months, in order to start offering a wide selection of video games. The official launch schedule is claimed to be carried out next year.

The streaming giant reportedly has no plans to charge additional game access fees, though it's unclear if the additional content will lead to price increases in the future.
