Digital War On Twitter, Because Allkpop Online Media Is Being Accused Of Racism

JAKARTA - Allkpop online media has just received an attack on a number of social media from Lisa BLACKPINK fans. This is because Allkpop posted an article with the headline "Lisa's extreme fan from Southeast Asia is being criticized for terrorizing other BLACKPINK members' social media".

This article is based on the comments of several Korean netizens who tend to underestimate Southeast Asian fans, especially the Lisa BLACKPINK fan community in the region. This sparked anger, and manifested itself in a “digital war”.

Suddenly, AllKpop's post received a negative response from netizens, especially residents of Southeast Asia. Many fans were angry with the content in the post, especially after one of the Allkpop owners responded to the incident: “How can this be (including as) racist? It's just a post that translates the top comments by netizens on Nate Pann?"

It didn't take long for fans to start filling Twitter's timeline with the hashtag #AllkpopRacist and on July 7 at 9 p.m. (Korean time). There are more than 470 thousand tweets asking Allkpop to apologize. The case has gone viral in cyberspace!

There's also the @Onlyforlisa6 account, "The article written by @alkpop has slandered SEA and wrongly generalized and labeled the entire region. The responsible & ethical press is gone. Normalization & the spread of racial bias is NOT condoned. @johnnynoh @DeLaMethode APOLOGIZE TO SEA #AllkpopRacist".

At this time, Allkpop only responded to the incident by stating fans should stop the hate, but the online media did not admit the mistake.

"We hope that by explaining such issues all KPOP fandoms can unite to stop hatred and division among international fans and continue to share, embrace and enjoy KPOP. Twitter itself, has now become one of the social media platforms that are most often used as a battleground for various warring parties. It is not only related to inter-group political issues but also worldwide. One of them involves KPop fans in East Asia, Korea, with fans in Southeast Asia.

The phenomenon of digital war through social media platforms can be a dangerous event because no one can control it. This is one of the bad effects of social media for its users.
