JAKARTA - More than 41,000 people have signed several petitions calling for Jeff Bezos not to return to Earth, after a trip to space next month.

Quoted from Business Insider, Sunday, June 20, Bezos, founder of space exploration company Blue Origin on June 7, said he and his brother Mark Bezos will fly into space on a New Shepard rocket on July 20.

This mission is Blue Origin's first human flight. Three days after Bezos' announcement, two petitions were launched to try and prevent the billionaire's re-entry to Earth. Both have amassed thousands of followers in just 10 days.

More than 24,000 people have signed a petition on Change.org titled, "Don't allow Jeff Bezos to return to Earth".

"Billionaires shouldn't be on Earth, or in space, but if they decide the latter, they should stay there," reads the petition's description.

Meanwhile, another petition called "Petition To Not Allow Jeff Bezos Re-Entry To Earth", has garnered more than 19,000 signatures and is rapidly growing over time.

Jose Ortiz, who created the petition revealing in Bezos' description is, "an evil ruler who wields immense control over global domination. The fate of mankind is in your hands", Ortiz wrote.

The two petitions each aim to get 25,000 signatures, making them the two most signed petitions on Change.org, according to the website.

Unfortunately, until now there has been no response from Bezos regarding it, but in his Instagram post, Bezos revealed he has been dreaming of traveling to space since he was 5 years old.

"I'm going on that trip with my brother. The biggest adventure, with my best friend", said Bezos.
