Ready To Compete! Realme Brings 5G Smartphones To Indonesia

JAKARTA - The 5G network has arrived in Indonesia, not only cellular operators are scrambling to launch it immediately, but smartphone vendors are also participating in presenting 5G devices, one of which is Realme.

The Marketing Director of Realme Indonesia, Palson Yi, said that he will soon present the Realme 8 5G in Indonesia. Palson Yi assured the phone will be priced at a low price and become the cheapest 5G phone in Indonesia.

"Realme is fully ready to become a vendor that popularizes 5G. Our device that will be released soon is the Realme 8 5G", said Palson Yi at the online Realme 5G Summit.

According to Palson Yi, the Realme 5G series will add a new variant of the Realme 8 series which was launched in early April 2021, namely Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro.

With the aim of becoming the '5G Popularizer' in Indonesia, realme will soon present the most affordable 5G smartphone.

However, Palson Yi did not mention more specifically the meaning of the "cheap" price which he expressed during the event, "The market price of 5G mobile phones is still above Rp. 5 million, and so far the cheapest one is probably still above Rp. 3.5 million. Cheapest 5G."

Furthermore, the Realme 8 5G series will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which is claimed to have the fastest performance in its class. The Dimensity 700 is powered by an Arm Cortex-A76 CPU core and an Arm Mali-G57 GPU clocked at up to 950MHz.

The chipset is built using an advanced 7nm process which makes it 28 percent more power-efficient than the 8nm process. This shows the Dimensity 700 can provide high performance, but save power, thus extending the life of the smartphone.

It is claimed, the 5G model on the offered System on Chip (SoC) can produce internet speeds of up to 2.77 Gbps. Interestingly, the chipset also supports a 90 Hz refresh rate, is equipped with a 48 MP or 64 MP main camera sensor, as well as shooting modes that run with AI such as bokeh, color, and beauty.
