JAKARTA Apple released iOS 26.1 beta 4, its latest trial version for registered developers before being released in a stable version. In this update, Apple added several improvements.

This update brings significant visual adjustments and functional improvements, especially on the key screen and interface display. One of them is the introduction of a new Liquid Glass switch button in the settings menu.

With this option, iPhone and iPad users can choose between transparent or colorful views for visual elements such as notifications and tab blades. This feature can be found via Settings.

Users only need to open the Display and Brightness menu, then search for Liquid Glass on iPhone and iPad. This button adds new preferences in addition to existing accessibility settings such as options to increase contrast or reduce transparency.

IOS 26.1 beta 4 also introduces features that are welcomed by many users, namely the ability to disable sliding gestures to open the Camera from the lock screen. This feature is presented to eliminate accidental Camera app launches.

This feature can be accessed by opening Settings, then opening the Camera. After that, select the Lock Screen Slide menu to Open the Camera. This shortcut has been around since iOS 10, but this is the first time Apple has included the ability to disable it.

In addition to these features, these updates also bring improvement to Apple Intelligence with the support of new languages, including Mandarin, Denmark, Sweden, and Vietnam. The AirPods Live Translation is also expanded with Italian, Japanese, and Korean.

Other changes include updating Apple's streaming service branding from Apple TV+ to Apple TV accompanied by a dynamic app icon. The Settings app now also includes a new Local Capture section below the Generality to manage file storage locations.
