JAKARTA Meta announced that they will take action against accounts that share spam content on Facebook. Accounts with this category are accounts that often share content from other creators.
Meta calls it an 'unoriginal' account. By implementing this policy, Facebook will take firm action against accounts that repeatedly use videos, photos, or text submissions from other creators.
This action needs to be prevented so that the original creators can maintain their creativity and hard work. Detected accounts using other people's content will lose access to Facebook's monetization program for a while.
"If our system detects duplication videos on Facebook, we will reduce the distribution of those copies so that the original creators can obtain decent visibility," Meta said, quoted on Tuesday, July 15.
Meta also plans to develop features that benefit creators. This feature is the original link on duplicate videos. For example, when someone shares content from a creator, Facebook will pin the link to the original content.
"We will roll out these changes in stages over the coming months to help ensure a smooth transition for creators," Meta said.
