JAKARTA - Tokocrypto revealed that based on YouGov's findings, Indonesians' interest in crypto assets continues to increase.

In the midst of economic pressure and high cost of living, people are looking for more promising investment alternatives, apart from conventional savings and instruments such as gold. Of the 2,067 adult respondents in Indonesia, 1,041 respondents aged 18-65 years began to look at digital assets such as crypto.

"This is an important momentum to strengthen financial education and understanding of investment instruments, including cryptocurrencies," said Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana in a statement.

However, as crypto adoption increased as part of the public's financial strategy, debates over Bitcoin's role in the economic system resurfaced.

Calvin said that on social media there was an assumption that Bitcoin was a zero-sum game, where the advantage of one party was equivalent to the loss of another.

However, this view is considered inappropriate. According to him, Bitcoin is a positive-sum game, value growth in the crypto world occurs because of the collective contribution of users, developers, and institutions that continue to build blockchain technology-based solutions.

Bitcoin is not a zero-sum game because its value does not only come from speculation, but from belief, technology adoption, and its function as an alternative financial system. In zero-sum, there is no value creation. But in crypto, there is innovation, infrastructure, education, and inclusion that continues to grow," he explained.

Thus, this makes Bitcoin part of a positive-sum digital financial system, the more participants, the greater the potential value created for all parties.

Calvin also highlighted that the crypto ecosystem provides wider opportunities, ranging from technology development, decentralized finance adoption, to an inclusive and equitable increase in digital financial literacy.

"The most important thing is not just buying crypto, but understanding the principle. Crypto is tools. If it is used properly and wisely, it is not a matter of winning or losing, but a matter of creating new value," Calvin concluded.
