JAKARTA - Kaspersky revealed that 71% of cybersecurity professionals in Asia Pacific view cyber immunity as an effective strategy to reduce the threat of hacking and system damage.

Cyber immunity or cyber immunity is an approach that emphasizes a security system that has built-in resilience to cyberattacks, thereby minimizing costs related to external security solutions.

This research involved 850 professionals from various regions, including APAC, Europe, the Middle East, America, and Russia. In the APAC region, 84% of respondents claimed to be familiar with the concept of Cyber Immunity, while 85% of global respondents understood this term and understood its true meaning.

Among those who understand the term, nearly three-quarters (73%) of respondents consider Cyber Immunity a very effective strategy to minimize the ability of cybercriminals to hack a system.

Interestingly, 36% of respondents at APAC believe this approach is able to reduce the impact of attacks, and 28% believe it can reduce the frequency of attacks. A total of 35% even assessed that Cyber Immunity could do both at once.

Asia Pacific Managing Director at Kaspersky, Adrian Hia, stated that along with the development of technologies such as AI, Cyber Immunity is the main pillar of digital security.

Cyber immunity is basically an important core of cybersecurity strategies that organizations must adopt," Hia said in a statement.

As a follow-up, Kaspersky is expanding the use of KasperskyOS, its operating system, from a particular industry to a wider sector, enabling companies to build secure systems from the start and better prepared to face future cyber threats.
