YouTube Makes A BREAK! Watch Videos Keep Running Even Though Moving Tabs

JAKARTA - YouTube is back prepared to surprise its users on desktop! This time, the development team is working on advanced features that will make the multitasking experience smoother: Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode automatically when you move tabs!

Since the PiP feature first arrived in 2021, YouTube users can enjoy videos in small windows while browsing other sites. Unfortunately, desktop users still have to activate it manually in contrast to the YouTube app on Android and iOS which automatically log in to PiP when the user is out of the app.

Well, according to a leak from an X/Twitter user named Leopeva64, Google is currently testing the automatic PiP feature in the Canary Chrome version, which will immediately display a video mini window when you move to another tab.

Can Be Adjusted As Needed

Interestingly again, YouTube will also give users a choice when this feature is launched later:

- Always enable automatic PiP when exiting the tab

- Only activate once

- Or keep using manual settings like now

With this choice, users can adjust according to preferences. For example, when you want the video to appear on the screen while working or browsing, or you just want the voice to be without a video display like when listening to the sound of rain or casual music.

Although this feature has not been officially released, it is reported that it will soon be available on the web version of YouTube in the next few weeks. So, get ready! This feature is guaranteed to be a game-changer for those of you who like to watch while working or studying.
