Komdigi Opens Opportunities For Collaboration With Yandex To Encourage Digital Transformation

JAKARTA - As an effort to encourage digital transformation in the country, the Ministry of Communication and Digital opens up opportunities for cooperation with global technology platform Yandex.

According to the Minister of Trade, Meutya Hafid, Yandex is known as a leading search engine in Russia and a number of other countries that offer various services, including web searches, map services, artificial intelligence (AI) technology, as well as solutions for e-commerce and social media.

Meutya also invited Yandex to collaborate in strengthening Indonesia's digital sector and supporting the government's efforts, and also to help realize Indonesia Digital's vision.

"We welcome the collaboration with Yandex in order to strengthen Indonesia's digital sector and support the government's efforts to realize Indonesia Digital's vision," said Meutya when meeting with Yandex Search International CEO Alexander Popovskiy recently.

With a population of 270 million people and a very large number of internet users, Meutya believes that Yandex will be more popular if it penetrates the Indonesian market.

Meanwhile, Popovskiy stated that his party has advanced technology that can be adjusted to local needs and contributes to accelerating digitalization in developing countries, including Indonesia.

"Yandex is committed to providing great benefits for the people of Indonesia, both in access to information that is faster and more relevant and in improving the quality of the user's digital experience," he explained.

He also believes that with the technology they have, especially artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Yandex can help the Indonesian government in various fields such as education, artificial intelligence, and child protection.

"We hope to work with Indonesia to create healthy competition on digital platforms," he said.
