JAKARTA OpenAI has changed how to train its Artificial Intelligence (AI) model so that ChatGPT will provide a different response from before. This chatbot will be more explicit on any topic.

According to OpenAI, the company's latest approach makes ChatGPT more free to deliver answers. This AI assistant can even discuss controversial topics that users want by providing various perspectives.

"(This update explicitly embraces intellectual freedom' the idea that AI should empower people to explore, argue and create without arbitrary restrictions no matter how challenging or controversial a topic is," OpenAI said, quoted from its official website on Monday, February 17.

According to OpenAI, this intellectual freedom-based approach is 'a must for progress and innovation'. That way, ChatGPT can exchange information freely and reduce the number of topics that previously should not be discussed by AI.

Although more free, the ChatGPT response will certainly remain safe. This can happen because OpenAI embeds two philosophys on its AI model, namely 'Stay within limits' and 'Look for the truth together'.

For example, when someone asks about how a bomb was made, ChatGPT will not give detailed instructions such as the steps it made. On the other hand, ChatGPT will provide wise and diplomatic answers.

"Essentially, we have strengthened the principle that no ideas are inherently prohibited for discussion, as long as the model does not cause significant harm to users or other people (for example, commit acts of terrorism)," OpenAI explained.
