JAKARTA In December 2024, WhatsApp began to expand the Meta AI feature on its platform. This Artificial Intelligence-Based Chatbot (AI) can be accessed by all users in various parts of the world.
Now, WhatsApp plans to optimize access to Meta AI through upgrades to features and widgets. Based on WABetaInfo's findings some time ago, the messaging platform will get a dedicated tab to access Meta AI.
This new tab will be named AI and replace the Community tab. Apparently, this change will put all community features into the chat room, not just the latest community creation feature. That way, users can maximize the use of Meta AI.
This update can be seen in the WhatsApp beta version 2.25.1.24 which was released on January 9. Interestingly, the AI special tab not only presents a chatbot model made by Meta, but also made by a third party. Users will be able to chat with AI characters later.

This tab also provides chat rooms based on needs. There are tools provided to provide tips on productivity, entertainment, personal assistance, to special fields with game themes or even anime.
Additionally, on WhatsApp beta version 2.25.1.27, the messaging platform is seen launching a new widget designed for Meta AI. Users can add this new widget to the main screen of their phone so that Meta AI can be accessed quickly.
This gadget also includes the camera button. When tapped, the user has the option to take photos and share them with Meta AI. This feature can be used to edit photos, explain objects or writings in the photo, and much more.
