Google Prepares 'Motion Cues' Feature On Android To Overcome Traveling Drunkness

JAKARTA Google is developing a new feature called "Motion Cues" which is designed to help users cope with drunk travel while using Android devices on mobile vehicles. Although this feature has not been officially released, preliminary testing has successfully activated it via beta.

Motion sickness or motional motion is a common problem for many users, especially when reading or typing on their devices during the trip. Apple has previously launched a similar feature called Vehicle Motion Cues on iOS 18, which functions to reduce symptoms of getting drunk while not completely removing it.

According to a report from the Android Authority, the Motion Cues feature on Android is enabled through the Google Play Store beta APK version 24.29.32. When activated, this feature adds about 14 pairs of small dots on the screen that move according to the device's motion. These points provide visual references that help users adjust to vehicle movements, thereby reducing nausea.

This feature also has an automatic option called Auto-enable when Driving, which detects when the user is in the vehicle and activates the feature. However, Google still needs to improve this feature, especially to ensure that the driver does not use its device intensively, which of course is not recommended when driving.

To be able to function, Motion Cues requires permission to be displayed on top of other applications, so these small points will be visible on all the screens of the application used.

While there is no definite information about when this feature will be released, its presence is good news for Android users who often experience motion sickness. With the increasing number of signs of development, this feature is expected to be an innovative addition that will be useful in the Android ecosystem in the future.
