JAKARTA - Tencent officially announced the launch of the first Internet Data Center (IDC) in Indonesia. Tencent Cloud's first IDC will reach 27 regions and 61 zones in Indonesia.

"We are delighted to be able to launch our first IDC in Indonesia to help to the maximum reach of the optimal potential of cloud computing in this country", said Tencent Cloud International Senior Vice President Poshu Yeung in a written statement on Tuesday, April 13.

IDC Tencent Cloud is located in the business center of Jakarta and is already operating optimally to complement the backbone and network access of all major internet service providers in Indonesia and globally.

The IDC also incorporates Tencent Cloud's gateway border protocol to cover the entire country.

The IDC's launch in Indonesia allows Tencent Cloud to be closer to their customers and users to reduce delayed access to data and applications, and help businesses and organizations in the country accelerate their digital transformation.

IDC Tencent Cloud in Indonesia is also said to help customers to meet regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as provide more options for disaster recovery throughout the Asia Pacific region.

The establishment of IDC Tencent Cloud in Indonesia will also support the growing needs of various industries, ranging from financial services, internet, and e-commerce, to entertainment, gaming, and education.
