Menkomdigi Highlights Potential For Data Center Development Cooperation With Finland

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid, in his meeting with the Finnish Ambassador to Indonesia Pekka Kaihilahti, highlighted the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the field of technology, especially in the construction of data centers.

During the meeting, the Minister of Trade, Meutya, hoped that the cooperation with Finland would later support the acceleration of digital transformation, which is currently being boosted by the Indonesian government.

Lebih dari itu, Meutya juga menyoroti pentingnya transfer of knowledge dalam kerja sama ini, agar tidak hanya terbatas pada investasi tetapi juga menciptakan manfaat jangka panjang bagi Indonesia.

"We know that Finland has expertise in digital innovation, while Indonesia is in a very dynamic condition with the digital economy that continues to grow. Of course we welcome this collaboration," said Meutya in an official broadcast quoted on Sunday, December 1.

Meanwhile, Finnish Ambassador Pekka Kaihilahti also welcomed the idea of the Minister of Trade. According to him, with the advantages of each country, this collaboration could have a big impact on both countries.

Kaihilatti said Finland itself has experience in building an efficient digital system and is willing to share knowledge through training, technical assistance, and strategic collaboration.

"We not only offer technology but also experience and expertise in building digital infrastructure and empowering human resources. We believe this collaboration can have a big impact on both countries," he concluded.

This transfer of knowledge from Finland is also expected to increase Indonesia's domestic ability to develop modern data centers, strengthen the digital ecosystem, and connect communities to remote areas.
