Could Explode, Apple Watch Accessories From Belkin Officially Withdrawn

JAKARTA One of Apple's official accessories, which comes from a third party, was forcibly withdrawn from all markets due to security risks. This device for Apple Watch can cause a fire.

Recently, Belkin made an official announcement that they had withdrawn the BoostCharge Pro Fast Charger for the Apple Watch + Power Bank 10K, with the model number BPD005, due to a defect in the production process.

This device has been released since May last year so some people may have bought the power bank. For consumers who have purchased their devices, Belkin provides full refund options because this problem occurs due to the company's negligence.

It is not known with certainty how many devices experienced production defects until Belkin were forced to withdraw their devices from the market. However, based on Belkin's confession, a number of devices could explode because the components were too hot.

"Production painting in some circumstances can cause lithium cell components charging portable wireless batteries to become too hot, which could pose a fire hazard to consumers," Belkin said on its official website.

Although Belkin is aware of this issue and several reports of the explosion may have emerged, the company stated that there were no casualties as a result of the 10K Apple Watch + Power BoostCharge Pro Fast Charger explosion.

Belkin warned its users to stop using the power bank and release its charging cable from Apple Watch or other devices. Before being returned, this device must be placed in a safe and dry location.

This problem raises concerns and there is a suspicion that Belkin uses cheap materials. The reason is, this is not the only case of product withdrawal. In 2021, Belkin also attracted one of its products due to defects in production.

The device is a Unabled Charger for Portable Boost Charge + Special Edition of Occupants (WIZ003). After various complaints emerged, this device was pulled from Apple's online and retail stores. Some reports say that the product caused electric shocks and could potentially cause fires.
